Classification
Classification makes life easier for scientists. It is like at the supermarket how all the foods are categorized into little groups the same goes for organisms.

Plants are categorized into two groups. These are VASCULAR and BRYOPHYTES.

Animals are categorized into two groups. These are VERTEBRATES and INVERTEBRATES
Then there are the 5 kingdoms they are
Animals
Plants
Fungi
Protists
Monera

To help categorise some of these we use a dichtomas key.

The 5 Kingdoms
In the world of organisms there are 5 kingdoms. these are:
Animals
Plants

Protists
Monera

These are broken up into small categories eg. Animals= Invertebrates and Vertebrates.
This help us to categorise the animal into smaller and smaller groups. The picture below is how people classify animals into their species.
First is the kingdom. This is if it is an animal, plant and so forth.
Second is phylum. This is if it is an invertebrate or vertebrate.
This goes on until it gets down to one animal species which is a small as you can go.

Animals

Animals are classified into two groups. Vertebrates and Invertebrates. Some exampls of vertebrates are Mammals, birds and amphibians.
These are vertebrates because they have backbones. Some Invertebrates are insects, arachnids and molluscs. These are Invertebrates because they don't have backbones

PLANTS
Plants are broken up into the groups VASCULAR and BRYOPHYTES. A vascular plant has tussues that conduct water and photosyntheticmaterial. A bryophyte plant cannot do all of this.
